As the population ages it seems everywhere you look there are ads for "how to look younger". More and more people are seeking plastic surgeons and botox gurus to create a younger look. Is this just vanity?
Movies and books tell tales about searches for immortality. Is this just wishful thinking?
I believe God has painted a desire for eternity on our hearts. But the separation that has grown over the generations between us and God confuses this desire. We think we can achieve eternal youth on our own. We deny our mortality. And we fear death.
If we return to God, we will see death is not to be feared. We are made to be eternal beings. We are immortal. Our life as we know it is but a brief moment in time. Death is the birthing pain to a new eternal life.
1 John 5:13-14
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

Others think its because they come from a Christian background.
Others think its because they were born in a certain country.
Or because they believe in God and do good works.
It's not like that at all.

It isn't just saying "I believe in God."

Being a Christian Boring?
Who ever thought being a Christian is boring never really was one. You are being constantly challenged to grow. To grow you have to trust. Trust God. Trust our Lord Jesus. Allow the Holy Spirit to work in your life. You need to submit. Submit to God. That's what most people don't want to do. Original sin; like Satan, wants to be God. To have your will done instead of God's Will. That the whole thing. "Thy will be done, Thy kingdom come. On earth as it is in heaven."
